young man smiling standing at staircaseMy name is Christopher, but I prefer to go by CJ. I am in high school, with plans on attending college after graduation. One day I hope to develop my own apps and share them with the world. I enjoy spending time with friends, playing video games, watching movies and playing outdoors, especially football! I am on the football team at school and have already received my varsity letter!

I also enjoy school. I am currently taking AP and honors courses and was recently placed on honor roll! I would describe myself as quiet, until our conversation gets good! I am learning to cook and grill, since noodles are not a meal! Soon enough, I’ll have the skills to attend the grill on my own. I have already mastered baking brownies and making pancakes, which are my favorite!

I need a family that can help me reach my full potential and become a successful adult. If you have room in your heart and family, I hope you would consider allowing me to join!

Birthdate: March 2004

child in room smiling at cameraDo you love technology and teens? Well, Meet Stephen! He is thirteen year old male who loves technology. Whether it is a computer or an apple watch, Stephen is intrigued by the capabilities of these devices. Stephen enjoys playing video games and hopes to become a software developer after he graduates from college. He enjoys adventure and sports games because it allows him to perform activities that are limited for a child who uses a wheelchair. Although Stephen has used a wheelchair for many years, he is able to stand and take steps. Stephen refuses to let his disability define who he is as a person. He is much more focused on what he can do.

Stephen was adopted as a toddler and lost his adoptive mother due to health issues. So, he may appear to be shy and reserved during your first meeting. He may also use a fidget spinner to reduce feelings of nervousness or anticipation. Stephen was loved and nurtured in his adoptive home and still needs time to adjust to the loss. It is important for his new adoptive family to understand that despite his obvious sadness, he wants a family again. Academically, Stephen will need additional assistance due to days of missed instruction due to spinal surgery. Stephen is very bright and enjoys school. At school, he is focused and eager to learn. He is very bonded to his adult sisters and continued contact is recommended.

February Child of the Month

Birthdate: May 2008 and August 2009

Antwonet and Antwon are like two peas in a pod. They both have outgoing personalities and enjoy everything in the moment. They share a close bond and are good friends as well. Both Antwonet and Anwon enjoy watching cartoons and playing video games.

Both children appear to be quiet at first meet and it takes Antwon a bit longer to warm up and open up. But once they get to know you you’ll wonder how they were able to keep those big personalities under wraps! With two big personalities under one roof, life is full of adventure and the usual mishaps to boot. Both of the children have identified a renewed interest in school however both struggle in one way or another.

These darlings need a strong parental unit with a great support system willing to provide guidance, support, nurturing and encouragement. If you are a strong family that is willing to open your home to this sibling group, please contact the assigned worker.
