Pre-Service Training
Interested in becoming a foster or adoptive parent? Our sessions provide interactive training and cover all issues in parenting children. Participants are provided with resources of information during the sessions. Topics include:

- Normal childhood development
- Effects of Abuse and Neglect
- Separation and Attachment
- Discipline
- De-Escalation
- Cultural Issues in Placement
- Working with Families
- Sex Abuse
- Effects of Care Giving
- Permanency Issues for Families
Orientation to our programs consists of 36 hours of training divided into twelve, three-hour sessions. Sessions are offered during the day, evening and on weekends to accommodate all schedules. No Children Are Allowed. All spouses and live-in partners must complete pre-service training to be certified. Finishing your 36 hours of training does NOT certify you as a licensed foster parent or an approved adoptive home. Your training is good for from the date you begin classes.
